11 Dec Out and About – Feeling Festive!
Hi to The Sett!
It’s been so very busy but here is a belated blog post from last Thursday – give it a read as our festive outings are far from over!
“We’re writing this from our first ever trade show – The Mill in Soho, London. Any of you who’ve started or worked for any kind of design brand will know the unique combination of excitement and nerves of this kind of occasion. Your first chance to exhibit, show off your wares – an amazing opportunity indeed, but the night-before nerves of running out of product, technology failing you or even messing up your pitch don’t really disappear until several hours (read, glasses of prosecco) in!
The Mill contains some absolutely awesome brands and we’re really chuffed to be here showing off what we do. It’s also great to be one of the only knitwear brands at the event – exhibiting here has really opened our eyes to how vast and sprawling the artisan community in London is. Handsome Badger is surrounded by high-end jewellery brands, an edgy t-shirt company from Manchester, a beautiful botanicals outfit and even a toy emporium!
One of the things that has warmed our little hearts is to see people’s responses to the product set. It’s been really interesting to see which elements of our brand grab the most attention – the fact that all our wool is Peruvian merino and is all 100% ethically sourced has really whet appetites to find out more. Our chunky hats have been the biggest sellers, with the beautiful infinity scarves not far behind – there’s also been a lot of excitement around our upcoming homewares collection (which is now can be pre-ordered, and ships in February).
If you didn’t have the chance to get down to The Mill, fear not – you’ll still have plenty of opportunities to come and wrap yourselves in our woolly loveliness at a host of different events and retailers this month. We’ve just launched at London Ethnic (King’s Road, Chelsea) and will also be exhibiting at The London Artisan (Old Truman Brewery, 16th-17th December). See The London Artisan featured in The Londonist here.
There’s still ample time to grab some beautiful knitwear for a loved one (or even yourself!) as a stylish Christmas gift – come along and meet us at any of the above funzies or shop now.”
