02 May MAY BAD!
MY BAD!! (Excuse the terrible attempt at a pun in the title…)
I can’t believe I’m writing our first blog post in May (ouch on the SEO front). We designer makers are always hot on the designing and making, not so much on the blogging, forgive me! I guess I can just be thankful that it has been such a busy 2018 so far and event thought the sun might be coming out, the knits are still coming thick and fast… so let’s start from the beginning!
We were very excited to exhibit at the prestigious Top Drawer trade show in January. To be pushing wholesale less than 4 months from launching was a proud milestone proving how much the brand has achieved in such a small amount of time. Our knitwear was received really well and it was great to meet other likeminded brands like Ryoko Bags, Dick Winters and James Cromwell. Do check out their sites for some seriously lovely swimwear, leather bags and gentleman’s personals! If you’re a retailer interested in stocking Handsome Badger knits do get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll take it from there.
We’ve also been designing for spring summer and will be diversifying across other disciplines. We’re always trying to focus on sustainable fashion and zero waste and SS really reflects this. We’re also partnering with UnWined in Tooting to offer a series of beginner zero waste knitting workshops in July. Wine and knitting with friends – whats not to love! More on all this soon…
Whilst here in the UK the sun is starting to come out, in other parts of the world it’s still hat and scarf weather. We will be keeping our permanent collection of hats and scarves on sale on the website and as far as we’re concerned an investment artisan throw is an essential purchase any time of year. Give our website a browse for more.
On Saturday 21st April we launched our new range of zero-waste necklaces as well as some super lovely headbands, tweed ties and more at Urban Makers East EcoMarket. All these new pieces will be available on our new Etsy store where you’ll be able to purchase this summer collection and unique one-off pieces (I can’t seem to limit myself within a collection, too many ideas!)
I guess that’s it for now – promise I won’t leave it so long next time!
